Carol Milstone, Ph.D.

Clinical psychologist for individual adults

The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.

Although Carl Jung wrote this 100 years ago, it is as significant today as ever before. Remaining true to who we are is an important part of our life’s journey. My role as a psychologist is to guide you through this journey with compassion, insight, and clarity.

What matters is not the meaning of life in general, but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment.

Viktor Frankl

About myself

Dr. Carol Milstone, Ph.D., Ottawa Psychologist

I am licensed with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to practice clinical and counselling psychology with individual adults. My training includes a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, and post graduate studies at the Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto. I bring to my practice over 30 years experience in the field of mental health and psychology — and decades more than that in life’s experiences.

Because I’ve held space for so many people’s stories and struggles, I am comfortable working with all sorts of issues and circumstances.

Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.

My approach to therapy

Nothing goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

Pema Chodron

There are many approaches to therapy, with some more effective than others for promoting lasting, personal growth.

My approach to psychotherapy combines insight-oriented therapy with cognitive and behavioural strategies (CBT). With compassion and discovery, we will work through your concerns in a meaningful way.

Regardless of the issue, big or small, the focus will be on the concerns raised by the client.

Just reach out and we can start talking.
